Character Interview in the voice of the Vigilare (questions provided by Laurie's Paranormal Thoughts Blog):

1. Who should play you in a film?

Most definitely, Angelina Jolie.

2. Tell us about your family.

That's a bit foggy. I get snapshots, visions, occasionally, but I'm not sure if they are mine.

3. What is the scariest moment of your life?

I live the scariest moment of my life every time I transform into the Vigilare. I do not choose my position; it chooses me, a divine assignment.

4. What are your favorite TV shows?

Vigilare doesn't watch TV. If I did, I would probably like Criminal Minds, CSI, Law & Order. I've been likened to Batman. Although, I do not abide by a 'no kill' policy.

5. What is your favorite meal?

Pizza Margherita

6. Do you play any sports?

Is physical combat considered a sport? I'm well versed in martial arts.

7. What are you passionate about these days?

Justice. Avenging. Protecting victims.

8. What do you do to unwind and relax?

I sit above the bell tower, watching...waiting, until I'm called.

9. If you could apologize to someone in your past, who would it be?

The boy and his family...from my visions.

10. What would you consider to be the best book you have ever read?

If I do, in fact, read, I would say Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights. It's dark and anguished. I can relate.

11. Morning Person? Or Night Person? How do you know?

Night person. That seems to be the time I am called to action. That makes sense, as most dastardly deeds are reserved for the night.

12. If I came to visit you early in the morning, would you impress me as being more like a chirpy bird or a grumpy bear?

Definitely a grumpy bear. For your sake, I hope you never come to visit me in the morning. Only evil knocks at my door.

13. What one word best describes you?

Vigilant.

14. Do your friends think you are an introvert or extrovert?

I don't have friends. Although some citizens of Vanguard look to me as a hero. I am no hero, I assure you.

15. Do you have any special routines or rituals?

I serve retribution style, every time I am called.

16. What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

I believe my true identity would surprise most.

17. Do you have a favorite quote, quip, or saying?

An eye for an eye.

18. Is there a piece of advice you have received that has really stuck with you? If so, what is it?

“Do unto others as you would have done unto you.” Otherwise, I'll happily put you in check.

Praise for Vigilare:

"Vigilare walks the line between a thriller and a supernatural adventure while safely anchored in a scientific discourse around blood that James put together so well that it's reminiscent of a Douglas Preston or Michael Crichton novel. With action, romance, a strong female hero and a likeable group of characters, Vigilare reads like a good action movie." -Gabino Iglesias, Austin Post

"Vigilare is not for the faint of heart. It is not for young audiences. This supernatural suspense thriller should come with a rating: Mature. It is cold and sinister and heroic and is absolutely worth every single chill that will undoubtedly raise the hairs on your neck. James crafted a story that fully explores a scientific approach to hematology reminiscent of Michael Crichton's meticulous application of medicine while she juggles the pins and needles page-turner style of James Patterson." -Read-Indie Books

"Koontz and King fans, you're going to love this one!" -Amazon Review

"If you're a fan of Batman, V, or Sin City, then you'll enjoy this book." -Goodreads Review

Vigilare Description:

An adaptation from a student film, Vigilare was inspired by comics and movies, such as The Punisher, Watchmen, Batman and Boondock Saints. Where One System Fails, Another Never Gives Up!

Detectives Gina DeLuca and Tony Gronkowski investigate a string of murders among Vanguard's most loathsome population, rapists and pedophiles. With fed up citizens, the city is on the verge of a vigilante uprising in support of their seemingly superhuman Vigilare with the sparkling emerald green eyes.

Friend or foe, Vanguard Police Department has a job to do in bringing the vigilant one to justice, causing their own internal battle with right and wrong, immoral and just. Following their leads, Detectives DeLuca and Gronkowski find themselves pulled into a mysterious world of super blood and super powers, and closer to the Vigilare than ever expected.

It's a race to the finish between Detectives DeLuca and Gronkowski and the Vigilare to figure out who she is and why she exists. The first in a trilogy, Vigilare-the one who watches over-comes to light.

Advisory: Rated Mature. Mature themes. Mature language. Not for young audiences. Nor for the faint of heart.
